Mysterious Scottish newcomers Viva Ze Bool unveil gleaming synthpop debut "Glamorous"
They're Dundee-based and like a Stephen King reference, but that's about all we know about Viva Ze Bool as the band releases their first single.
Keeping their identities secret and going so far as forcing a Hollyoaks actor (Rory Douglas Speed) to appear in their video, Viva Ze Bool are relying on the quality of "Glamorous" to grab attention. Lucky for them it's damn good.
With synths both twinkling and pulsating, huge programmed drums and an urgent female vocal it's hard not to make Chvrches comparisons; however there's also a heavy dose of chillwave and blissful Balearic beats in the track to make it an intriguing introduction. Whoever Viva Ze Bool are, "Glamorous" is good enough to make us want to hear a lot more.
