Finnish rapper View teams with Ronya for intense and claustrophobic new single "Deeper"
After fulfilling his early promise and delivering the goods over a number of appearances at The Great Escape, Best Fit favourite View is back - with fellow Finn Ronya on board - with his first single for Sony.
"Deeper (Bitch Leave a Comment)" is accompanied by a beautifully shot video featuring images of hotel rooms and book burning, with both artists looking suitably tortured as events unfold around them. It's also one of our first glimpses of View without his trademark hat and contact lenses.
The track itself is one of simple beauty; Ronya's addictive helium pop vocals are matched with pulsing synths and trap beats, before View takes over for the second verse. His trademark claustrophobic,, rasping delivery is as brilliant as ever. As the track moves to a thrilling crescendo, there's a vicious snap to View's delivery that's focused inward, a seething self-loathing which threatens to spill over.
The rapper explains "“With my producer Joonas Laaksoharju we had been playing with the idea of a song with Ronya. We wanted to make a song that includes the featuring artist also in other parts of the song than just the chorus. Breaking traditional patterns and structures and trying new things is something we have always found fascinating. ‘Deeper’ is the output of this kind of approach”.
