VENN announce debut record Runes, reveal jaw-dropping "Real Blood" clip
VENN have announced debut record Runes and shared lead single/video "Real Blood".
"Real Blood" is a propulsive jewel with biting guitars and strutting percussion - it's a supremely raw slab of post-punk bliss, with '80s synths draped sparsely over the top.
The stunning visual accompaniment, starring Eleesha Young-Drennan and Mathieu Geffre, was created at North London's New River studios with filmmaker Mark Norgate and photographer Emma Gibney. The video is described as about "the struggle to feel real in an increasingly cold, closed culture... to remain human even when you are confronted with inhumanity."
Runes itself was produced by Kristian Craig Robinson (aka Capitol K) at Total Refreshment Centre.
