NYC's Vardaan Arora teams up with K-Pop idol MRSHLL for "I Don't Wanna Know"
India-born, NYC-based singer/songwriter and rising pop star Vardaan Arora adds to his collection of dance-pop anthems with his ultra-confident new single.
Arora's latest single is dripping with a newfound confidence, one which he's set to take with him as he launches his debut EP Heartbreak On The Dancefloor.
Having found viral success with his debut single "Feel Good Song", a somewhat unprepared Arora found himself releasing new music as he made it. His catchy melodies paired with relatable lyrics connected with fans who were eager to share his music's uplifting and relatable messages.
Today's release, "I Don't Wanna Know", sees Arora create a trifecta of outstanding queer Asian talent with MRSHLL, the first openly gay male K-pop star, and fellow queer producer Kennen working on the track. Of collaborating with MRSHLL, Arora explains "[he's] also a queer artist with such a unique perspective on pop that's much needed." He adds "his verse elevates it to a level I didn't even know was in the cards for this track."
Noting the change of pace in "I Don't Wanna Know", Arora says "it exudes this confident energy that I don't often tap into. I wrote this song when I was freshly out of a relationship, and it's essentially about knowing what you want during a rebound phase. When you meet someone you're attracted to, but you're not interested in getting to know them on an emotional level. It's very 'let's get straight to the point'."
In 2020, Arora has grown-up and is finally ready to release his first body of work. Through his unique lens of fine-tuned electro-pop, it's shaping up to be an expansive exploration of his identity with the high octane energy of "Imposter Syndrome", a vocoder-drenched synth-pop reworking of Selena Gomez's "Rare" and now "I Don't Wanna Know".
