Mysterious new artist upsidedownhead makes his mind-boggling debut with "get low ft. Ric Rufio"
We don't really know a lot about upsidedownhead. But what we do know is that he is a producer from Australia, his real is Ross James and he creates crookedly hypnotic electronica that demands your immediate attention.
Having previously worked with some pretty notable artists such as Chet Faker, wafia and eveskarydas and ditching a number of different monikers and projects along the way, upsidedownhead is a project that sees the producer make his mark as an intriguing and promising new prospect.
"get low" puts the producer's sonic skills and obsession for wonky beats on full display and sees the producer play every instrument on the track whilst highlighting his knack for being able to accurately pinpoint where the beat should drop to create enough expectation and release.
There's a paranoia and anxiety to the track, where Rufio's vocals build and swirl with tumultuous repetition reflecting the constant influx of information that life hits us with each and every day. However, there's comfort to be found in the final big release and the track is ultimately about finding calm and letting go when panic is all around you.
"get low" comes as the first release in the lead up to his debut EP entitled seven tracks which is due for release soon.
