Belfast-based UNKNWN is a duo composed by producer and singer Gemma Dunleavy and beat-maker Chris Hanna. The pair release double A-side single, “Devil” / “BBY”, this month.
The release features the haunting track, “Devil”, which has already gathered steam online for fans of trip hop-like stylings. With strings and piano that evoke the frightening atmsopherics of Silent Hill, along with equally brooding vocals, “Devil” opens up into a possessed song full of shuffling and bass-heavy beats. It’s a sedated orchestral sound, and is simply fantastic.
“Devil” / “BBY” is out on 20 June via Champion Sound Records.
