Brooklyn-based dream-poppers Twin Wave release “Roll With It”
“Roll With It” is the latest release from Twin Wave, a trio (formerly five-piece) who cut their teeth journeying between Brooklyn and Connecticut.
Their sounds pulls from many directions, incorpotating rock, pop, psych, and electro, to name a few. “Roll With It” blends these elements and more to create a complex, moody soundscape.
"“Roll With It”” is about losing someone I loved to grief,” band member Nick Williams explains. “I watched her submit to the power of her loss and then become a black hole, trying to pull everything around her into oblivion. It’s about the guilt I felt when I knew I had to exit the relationship in order to keep myself whole.
“The chorus - the repeated lyric “say you’d never” - serves as a sort of echo for how I felt after the end. I was angry at myself for leaving, but also at the situation, and the tragedy of how grief and loss ultimately destroyed us."
