Their first long-form offering, Junkyard Jazz is like the soundtrack to Disney’s 1973 film Robin Hood performed in its entirety by a skiffle band.
2017 has been a magnificent year for Trudy & The Romance, a self-described “mutant ‘50s pop band” from Liverpool. They have wisely decided to see out this rollercoaster ride with a startling debut EP full to the brim with odes, hymnals, lullabies and poems from the dulcet tones of “Junkyard Cat” to rock and roll number “Ruff Ryder”. Christmas may have just come early this year folks.
Junkyard Jazz is out now via B3SCI Records.
Trudy and the Romance headline London on Friday 26th January at The Lexington.
