Transviolet brush off the creeps on glittering, disco-inspired new offering "Bad Intentions"
Transviolet make their welcome return with the absorbing, infectious pop of new tune "Bad Intentions"; a spectacular ode to brushing off the creeps on the dancefloor and doing your thing regardless.
"Bad Intentions" sees the band lay the groundwork for their third body of work due out later this year, and for the most part it's business as usual. The big pop hooks are present, the penetrative earworm melodies are still there, but "Bad Intentions" goes harder and sees Transviolet at their most confident and abrasive yet. The beats are deeper, the delivery is razor-sharp and the dance-inducing magnetism is clearer than ever before.
At the centre of the track is lead singer Sarah McTaggart, who virtually spits out the lyrics to each verse with assertive self-assurance before laying down the rules as she sings "I don't give a f*ck about your bad intentions / I got the feels". It sees her make her way to the dancefloor to cut shapes, making it clear that no creepy onlooker is going to stop her having fun.
Speaking on the track, she says "I'd been listening to a lot of Beegees, Blondie and The Weeknd, and really wanted to try and write our version of a disco/dance song. We were in the studio with Nathaniel Motte from 30H!3 having the most ridiculous time just writing this song about being too f*cked up to care about all the creeps creepin."
"Bad Intentions" ultimately sees the LA four-piece step it up a gear just in time for their first headline US tour this summer. Exciting times inevitably lie ahead.
