Tommy's "Binary Love" is a soft, introspective exploration into what it means to be human
On "Binary Love", 24-year-old Tommy delves deep into his concerns for the increasing lack of human connection that is permeating through our modern world.
As the song begins, Tommy utilises the most simple of set-ups, where a dream-like guitar is the only accompaniment to his emotive vocals that breeze through with an effortless power. There is no need for grand shows of a synthetic nature, as he lets his vocals do the talking.
Yet, when the drums eventually show face and flourish into the eruption of the first chorus, Tommy presents us with a glimmer of hope within the hopelessness of our fast-moving world that has become increasingly obsessed with technology.
On the track, Tommy explains “'Binary Love' explores what it means to be human. We are losing the ability to communicate as technology consumes us.”
The song works as a reminder that the power of what we already have, and the importance of the relationships we keep, are ultimately the most important thing and we must endeavour to not lose sight of that.
