Thyla ruminate their darker days on new single "Blue"
The thunderous “Blue” is the latest outing shared from Thyla's forthcoming debut EP What’s On Your Mind.
Packing a punch with a swaggering rhythm section and toe-tapping, head-banging beats, “Blue” sees the band’s continued growth into a guitar-pop powerhouse with a collection of anthemic hits and killer choruses tucked into their back pocket.
Millie Duthie’s ever-sweet vocals reveal a playful bite as she once again dissects her own mind following her prior introspection and scrutiny on recent singles “Candy” and “I Was Biting”.
“The lyrics came from a similar place to the themes and ideas found in many of our other songs,” share the Brighton four-piece. ““Blue” as in, 'I got the blues', hones in on the rapid and unstoppable rate of change in the way we interact with people. “Blue” as in, the colour of the Twitter and Facebook interface, makes for an ironic double entendre. The things making us sad, is the colour of sad, “I’m blue” is both the cause and the symptom!”
