Them 9’s are a trio hailing from Ballarat, Australia who spin a new sound on latest release, “Dreams”; a sheer contrast to their blues-rock origins.
As chilled as their equally summery, “Drunk”, “Dreams” it is another Bacchanal-inspired track. It’s is a smooth jam for 21st century yacht rockers, in which the trio, with the added exception of a few synths, arrange drums, bass and guitar into a soulful, raw and expressive package. The polished instrumentation never feels overbearing and instead, as placid as a lake, lets mellow vocals take centre-stage before exploding into a heavy, passionate chorus.
