Spacey Kevin wisely change name to The New Fever, release morose festive track "A Christmas Night"
Recent events have caused Danish band Spacey Kevin to change their name, so the duo now record under the name The New Fever and have just released their Christmas single.
Esben Møller and Michael Jakobsen are keeping their trademark miserable stylings though, and have followed up "Lonely Tears" with festive dirge "A Christmas Night".
Slo-mo guitar and heartbreaking synth keys combine with Møller's downbeat croon to create a song sounding not too far removed from something Stephin Merritt might make if he was in a seasonal depressive mood.
There is of course a healthy dose of tubular bells just to give the track a dusting of Christmas magic, and the end product is a sad and dreamy winter treat.
