The Frights lash out on pounding new track "CRUTCH"
San-Diego surf rockers The Frights deal damage with abrasive new track "CRUTCH".
Having formed in 2012, The Frights are moving towards their third album. Their 2016 sophomore album, You Are Going To Hate This, featured production from FIDLAR’s Zac Carper.
New track "CRUTCH" sees the four-piece cause chaos as the chugging guitars come head to head with cymbal smashing percussion, spirally wildly into combustion of noise.
Frontman Michey Carnevale dips seamlessly between softer vocals and the screaming chorus, showcasing their garage rock goodness in all its glory.
“The whole skeleton for the song, ‘CRUTCH’, came to me in the shower,” explains frontman Mickey Carnevale. “I jumped out and forgot to wash my hair and started immediately writing lyrics. It’s a song about our band. About how it can simultaneously be the coolest thing in the world and the only thing I actually hate.”
The Frights manage to create a beautiful clash of instruments that unite to a penultimate chorus that is truly anthemic, and will undoubtedly translate incredibly well live.
