The Duke Spirit turn to the shadows on kaleidoscopic number "Serenade"
Not ones to rest on their laurels, The Duke Spirit are back with a new single - it comes just months after their KIN record.
"Serenade" is the first single from a new EP of the same name. It's a whirring, John Carpenter-infused salvo of poppy synth-psych. It's delirious and kaleidoscopic and rammed with vibrant bursts of electro gorgeousness - vocals are foamy and nebulous amongsy cyclic waves of bass and beats. "Serenade" is dark for sure, but it's not soul crushing - it's more like a light at the end of the tunnel.
Frontwoman Liela Moss says the EP is “a collection of songs that share the sense of running out of time to fix things, fix people - they are a tide slipping away from fingers…”
The Serenade EP is out via Red Essential on 14 October.
