Thandii introduces herself with the unsettling synth throb of "Cameo"
London-via-Margate's Thandii has just unveiled her debut single - and video - ahead of her first EP next month.
The video for"Cameo" is an unsettling and wayward piece, directed by Marion Bergin, to match the destabilising throb of the song itself.
With Thandii's haunting, pitch-bent vocal the star of "Cameo", it's joined by insistent bass pulses, tricksy percussion and the hint of psychedelia in a guitar which shimmers in and out of the track. Like the threat of thunder from clouds off the coast, the song hints at a danger ready to strike if you were to stray too far from familiar surroundings. Yet it has an unmistakable pull which makes Thandii a fascinating new voice.
