Dark pop duo Temptress take a bold first step in 2018 with the smouldering new single "I Say When"
Co-produced with Chris Zane (Passion Pit, Friendly Fires, St Lucia) and Kosuke Kasza (Holy Ghost!, Eves Karydas), "I Say When" is a seductive, slow-bop peppered with pop sentiments similar to Banks and Broods.
Temptress, otherwise known as Vlad and Jess, have been making music as a unit since 2016 and have done well to carve out a distinct nocturnal tone to their music. Their tracks are indulgent, seductive and undeniably made for the darker hours and this latest cut continues in this similarly inviting manner.
The South London natives have an admirably DIY approach to the production and presentation of Temptress. The accompanying video documents the young pair travelling around their hometown at night-time and features cans, sports brands and a couple of old bangers and yet it still retains an enticing seduction thanks to the ice-cold, after-dark R&B beats.
