Tay Salem's "Threads" is an embarrassment of dark R&B riches
"Jealousy is all the fun you think they had," says Tay Salem. "It’s an epidemic, but you can’t sleep on it. 'Threads' is an open mediation on these emotions.”
The London-via-Beirut vocalist, producer and multi-instrumentalist Salem dropped his debut track "Iron" back in July via new quality indie label Alter the Motion and "Threads" mines a similar place, where dark R&B scratches the surfaces of a moody emo pop - but only just.
Salem's debut EP, titled Night Mill, is due out in October and promises to continues "a thematic current.... delving into his view of neoliberalism and a sense of loneliness and social dissonance in the face of a world that doesn't switch off." Blimey!
