Talos' latest track "In Time" will leave your hairs standing on end
We fell in love with Talos' (Eoin French) crystal voice when he dropped "Tethered Bones" in March last year. Now the Cork, Ireland-based soloist shares the goosebump-inducing "In Time".
What is endlessly fascinating about French is his ability to make electronic music sound organic. His breathy airs may be more associated with folk music, yet the beds upon which they lay are often strewn with skittering beats and samples.
On "In Time" French returns in part to the heavily-melodic charms of first track "Tethered Bones", albeit devoid of the its R&B groove. It aligns itself more closely with the quiet majesty of singer/songwriter Rhodes: all celestial falsettos, emotive guitars, ghostly synths and tumbling drums that leave your hairs stood on end.
Talos plays Feel Good Lost at Hard Working Class Heroes, Dublin on 2 October.
