Newton Faulkner support act Tall Heights share “Spirit Cold”
Fresh out of a live slot in support of Newton Faulker, folk duo Tall Heights debut new single “Spirit Cold” ahead of the release of full-length album Neptune this coming March.
Composed of cellist Paul Wright and guitarist Tim Harrington, Tall Heights’ sound slots in nicely amongst that of popular peers Kodaline and The Lumineers, with less of the cringe-inducing bombast and manufactured sheen. Despite only having a two-part harmony throughout, there’s something choral about the pair’s intertwining vocals on new track “Spirit Cold”. Backed by simple guitar lines that fall somewhere between folk and indie-rock, it’s certainly no surprise to hear that the duo cut their teeth busking back home in Boston.
With debut album Neptune due out in the near future, Tall Heights look to have branched out beyond their original acoustic roots. Whilst keen to emphasise the lessons learnt from stripped-back street performances, there’s promise of plenty more electric guitar and additional elements to future album tracks.
