East London’s Szjerdene's emotional transparency shines on “Restart”
Bonobo and Lapalux collaborator Szjerdene showcases her simultaneously delicate and powerful vocals above strings and ornamented electronics on “Restart”.
Szjerdene's softly piercing voice soars above a cinematic production of brooding synths and creative electronics, hinting at the inspiration she's drawn from her collaborators.
When her 2013 debut EP Patchwork caught the attention of Simon Green (Bonobo), the singer was transported on a world tour, keeping a diary and transcribing an ever-evolving musical narrative.
Szjerdene says of the track: “‘Restart’ is the realisation that you’re not responsible for another’s happiness and the admission that you once thought you could be”.
