Join Swimming Tapes as they plunge into a nostalgic summer with video for “Set The Fire”
Swimming Tapes ignited our excitement for melodic indie-pop gold earlier this year as they released “Set The Fire”, a track that integrates a fun-fuelled familiarity amongst indie music lovers.
Having mentioned that they draw references from early-era The Radio Dept. and melodic elegance from Belle & Sebastian, Swimming Tapes have urged us to embrace their nostalgic melodies with their simplistic video for “Set The Fire”.
Plunging innocently into a quaint lake on a hot summer day accompanies “Set The Fire” perfectly, adding an energetic and enlightening tone to the melodic track.
The nostalgia reminds us of a family archive video, reminding us all that the simple things in life are often the best.
"Set the Fire remembers being young and restless, looking for adventure on the edge of town. Our guitarist Jason found this old footage of people messing about for the camera and it reminded us of the way we look back on carefree times."
Swimming Tapes’ “Set The Fire” is urging us to get out and enjoy the sunshine, and so should you with this melodic indie-pop gold. You can watch the video below.
"Set The Fire" is out now via London based indie Hand In Hive. Listen on Spotify, here. Catch Swimming Tapes live at Communion Club Night, Notting Hill Arts Club on September 4 and Mirrors Festival in Hackney on 29 October.
