SVIBES struggle against the “Quicksand” on their latest woozy R&B release
Blending soulful R&B with a slick sheen of electronic production, SVIBES' “Quicksand” is a tormented lullaby, an agonising struggle of lost love.
Comprised of German producer Chris De Luca and American artist Sanders Bohlke, SVIBES make music for tormented souls. Their smooth R&B infusions glide effortlessly over blended beats and shimmering synth patterns, throwing out a desperate plea to their lover – a lifeline in the glittering depths of the ocean.
"Quicksand is about a lover’s plea to end the relationship while there’s still hope of maintaining some sort of sanity,” the duo explains. “It’s a glimpse into the final moments of that relationship.”
“I can’t be the man you’re pretending I am,” Bohlke sighs, sparks of romantic attraction extinguished by the couple's heavy realisation that this love is not meant to be.
