Listen: SUVI – “Find You” [Premiere]
Not to be confused with the Finnish-named, London-based singer-songwriter Sivu, Finland’s SUVI returns with another spacious and assured pop song in “Find You”, premiering today on Best Fit.
Now based in Stockholm, Suvi Richer’s childhood memories of the sparse Finnish landscape have been the prime inspiration for her atmospheric pop sound; more so present than ever on “Find You”. Whilst hoisted by the kind of bad-ass beats and majestic brass commonly found on Danish songstress MØ’s records, there’s gorgeous vacuity to SUVI’s vocals, which footstep across cinematic string pulls, chopstick rhythms and polished Scandipop electronics. This isn’t an all guns blazing kind of cut, but a quietly confident love song, embellished by lyrical tugs of “Follow my heart/out of the blue/ if you get lost/I will find you”.
The single is released on 14 April via Rabble Records. SUVI also plays this year’s The Great Escape Festival on 10 May and the following UK dates:
