Surf Philosophies venture through surf and space with debut single "Coconut Parfum”
With their debut single "Coconut Parfum", Swedish outfit Surf Philosophies take psych pop to the extreme.
"We are the seagulls squawking for food, we are the whales singing for the ocean, we are the sharks mistaking surfers for seals," Surf Philosophies say of themselves. From the first listen it's evident that making music comes as second nature to the Malmö outfit.
It's a bold move, trying to hold on to new listeners for eight minutes straight, but there isn't a moment where "Coconut Parfum" feels tired. Gently chiming refrains and twinkling echoes give way to euphoric singalong choruses and space-age percussion, before taking a turn towards something entirely darker.
"Coconut Parfum" is released via Adrian Recordings.
