David Courtright of one-man Atlanta folk outfit, Suno Deko, makes his Stratosphere debut with the frilly lo-fi pop of “Bluets”.
Helmed alone by pretty guitar thirds and kitchen sink drums at the opening, when Courtright opens his mouth the image of a young Robin Pecknold (Fleet Foxes) cooing and jammin’ with his brother quickly comes to mind.
Unremarkable in its composition though unafraid of letting additional, gorgeous notes trickle at will, “Bluets” is a delicate and alluring first taste of what’s to come on Courtright’s forthcoming EP. Let’s hope it’s as wonderful as this.
Thrown Color EP is released on 22 July via Berlin-based label, Stratosfear.
