Sub Blue is one of Liverpool’s most exciting R&B prospects
New track “Hype Like Supreme” is just one example of the intelligent and introspective songwriting the Merseyside native is growing into.
Produced by Sir Dylan and XamVolo, “Hype Like Supreme” is a suburban snapshot of teenage life and the ensuing tribulations that come with adolescence. Sub Blue embraces the millennial by using coveted Supreme drops as a metaphor for a troubled relationship. While this is almost laughable there is an endearing quality to the whole affair that stems from the young man's earnest approach to artistic creation.
“I wrote the record about a girl. But I wanted to do it in a way that was a little bit different”, he explains, “I really wanted to explain that level of fascination and adoration she caused but in a way my peers would understand. Like literally, she caused a hype like the way a Supreme drop does. The theme runs through the visual.
