When they’re not being one of the world’s greatest good-time DJ acts (or collaborating with Apparat as Moderat), Modeselektor run the reliably excellent label Monkeytown.
The precursor to Monkeytown was 50 Weapons Of Choice, a white label singles imprint that put out tracks from anonymous producers, with no artwork, to independent record shops around Germany. The likes of Shackleton, T++ and Moderat themselves all released tracks through the label.
Modeselektor are gradually ‘re-releasing’ 50 Weapons’ back catalogue in streams. Below is a compilation of releases 10 through 19, including a fantastic Phon.o track. Excuse the annoying anti-rip beep.
