West coast Norway meets west coast USA on Strange Hellos' glorious "Is It Me?"
Bergen-based Strange Hellos are back with another blast of terrific sunshine in their latest single.
Following on from the likes of "Broken Teenage Heart"and "We Are Trouble", the Norwegians kick out the harmonies and jangling guitars once again on "Is It Me?"
The quartet, featuring Lumikide's Brigitte Alida Hole,AURORA band member and solo artist in his own right O. Martin, Fredrik Vogsborg of The Megaphonic Thrift and Even Kjellby (Great News) make music that's very much influenced by Californian sun and even the west coast of Scotland, given how much this track is reminiscent of Teenage Fanclub.
Hole, usually the main vocalist, takes a (minor) back seat on "Is It Me?" and provides beautiful harmonies to the male lead. The pure pop seratonin hit of the instrumentation is a balance to the yearning vocals, a wistful nostalgia tempered by the difficulties of real life. Strange Hellos make music which defies the seasons, and long may that continue.
