Dundee alt-pop duo ST.MARTiiNS step it up with second track "about u"
Dundee natives Mark and Katie are ST.MARTiiNS, and today release "about u", an indie alt-pop dream.
Last summer Scottish duo ST.MARTiiNS released their debut single "bad art", and today they release their first new material since, follow up "about u". The track mixes a number of sounds, beginning with sun-laced guitar reminiscent of Saint Raymond's early work, before growing into something more as the guitars and drums get heavier and vocalist Katie really shows off her voice.
Mark explains "'about u' is one of the first songs we wrote as ST.MARTiiNS and conveys some of the earlier elements we have since developed in our newer material. Particularly Katie's style of writing blasé realism." Ultimately for them, "about u" is "a love song dedicated to a fragile mind."
The pair are set to play on the BBC Introducing stage at the BBC 6Music Festival in Glasgow on 22 March, followed by a headline show at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut in the city on 30 June.
