Listen: Spring King - "Can I"
Spring King started their musical career back in (of course) the spring of 2012, and since then have been notorious for caustic performances and slacker-anthem cuts.
“Can I” is the first taster of the upcoming Demons EP - a “love song”, as the band has tagged it - which unveils a more refined sound for the band, similar to their previous single “Mumma”.
The vocals, still drowned by the incessant thrashing and clash of the instrumentation, are less murky but still adolescently undisciplined, jolting this refreshing bit of surf rock into a swamp monster of a track.
Spring King play Latitude Festival (18 July), Southsea Festival (20 September) and an EP launch show at Electrowerkz in London on 22 Septemeber. Demons is released via Transgressive on 8 September.
