Sorry usher in the new underground sound on “Wished”
An amalgamation of SoundCloud lofi rock and bold electronic soundscapes, Sorry’s latest foray “Wished” is a prime example of the kind of multi-faceted songwriting that is putting London’s guitar scene back on the map.
“Wished” is the group's debut studio offering recorded by Sean Oakley, whose credits are as varied as the band’s own influences. This penchant for wide-ranging sonic experimentation transformed a seemingly bog standard rock act into one of the city’s hottest meal tickets, leading to a deal with Domino and a highly anticipated tour alongside South London’s resident funk chameleons, Childhood.
Co-directed by Asha and India Pullbrook, the accompanying visuals for “Wished” manifests itself as a disorienting cultural tour of off-licences and fried chicken shops, soundtracked by hazy beats and earnest riffs. Proceed with caution.
