Scottish duo Smash Williams share new single "After A Time"
Ahead of their debut live outing at our very own Five Day Forecast in January, Scottish duo Smash Williams are sharing their second single “After A Time”, premiering exclusively on Best Fit.
2015 has been a great year for sad music; hell, it’s been a sad year. But Smash Williams push forward with the optimism of a running back hitting the hole, fully believing that each attempt could result in a touchown. “After A Time” pops with that same frenetic energy, its guitars pinging off the drum pattern and bouncing around the mix as lead singer Stuart Dougan chants a mantra of tenacity and endurance.
As Dougan himself says: "With 'After A Time' we wanted to make something that didn't beat around the bush too much and would be very direct. We'd worked on a bunch of songs and perhaps got to a point where we thought we were 'done' writing and could focus on putting together a live set up. Fortunately we pressed on though otherwise we wouldn't have this and there's a sweet irony as the song is essentially about perseverance."
Smash Williams are playing at our week-long new music festival in January, on a bill with Natali Felicia and Legends Of Country. Tickets are available now from £6 for each night, or £25 for the whole week.
