Skepta collaborator Fifi Rong drops enchanting new single "Future Never Comes"
London producer/Skepta collaborator Fifi Rong is sharing "Future Never Comes", the the follow up to her acclaimed Forbidden Desire EP.
"Future Never Comes" is a beguiling mishmash of electronica, pop, trip-hop, and much more - it's a virtually indefinable brew that slithers into your ears and seduces your senses on first listen. It's hypnotic and captivating, surrounded by wispy curls of synth darkness that infect your mind... Rong's uniquely beautiful voice cleaves the sound perfectly in two. "Future Never Comes" is a bit of a misnomer for this one - the future for Rong is bright indeed.
Rong - who's also worked with Swiss duo Yello, Tricky, and Lee Slater (M.I.A, Lana Del Rey) - teams with Mark Rose on this tune.
"'Future Never Comes' is by far the most epic-sounding track I've made," says Rong. "A lyrical theme going back to my initial breakthrough of the fear for pursuing my dream and answering my calling. Making this track as a collaboration feels like taking a glorious vacation away from being immersed building my own island.”
