Sweden's sir Was performs some sad karaoke in the visuals for latest track "Falcon"
With his debut EP due at the start of next month, Gothenburg's sir Was has dropped a lonesome video for his latest track "Falcon"
Joel Wästberg's sir Was project is the meeting point between jazz, old school hip hop, and electronica; the Swede blurs boundaries in the most insouciant of fashions, and his sleepy - almost lazy - approach to his art is both refreshing and reassuring.
Following bagpipe-heavy debut track "A MInor Life" sir Was continues down a free-spirited path on "Falcon", peppering the song with fractured breakbeats, snippets of birdsong, woozy organ and a vocal that just about acts as a guide through all the hazy gorgeousness of it all.
With a video directed by Fredrik Egerstand that focuses on Wästberg's swamp karaoke, "Falcon" is another fine taster for his debut EP Says Hi, due out 3 June on City Slang. Watch and listen below.
sir Was plays Berlin's Monarch (BeatGeeks Night) on 31 May and London's The Old Blue Last on 1 June.
