Listen: Shannon Saunders - "Silly Little Things" [Premiere]
The first we heard of Shannon Saunders was "Sheets" back in August, which soon charted at number one at Hype Machine. Now the young singer-songwriter is back with "Silly Little Things".
Despite being penned three years ago, "Silly Little Things" sounds like an artist vastly maturing in sound with its south Asian percussive hooks and rounded RnB gloss.
Speaking of the track, Shanon said: "I wrote this when I was 17 when I was going through a break up with a guy I thought I was in love with. It's about that moment you realise that all the games you play with one another aren't worth playing anymore. When you finally realise you're worth more and that you've outgrown the relationship. Allowing yourself to use the time you spent with that person as a time to focus on things that are important to you instead of wasting it watching the world go by with them."
Debut single "Silly Little Things" is released on 24 November.
