Rasmus Littauer - drummer for MØ and Major Lazer - launches School of X with the fantastic "Words"
As a drummer for Reptile Youth, Astreroids Galaxy tour, Major Lazer and MØ, Rasmus Littauer is no stranger to a stage or two. But as School of X he's finally getting his chance in the spotlight.
His debut solo single "Words" is a woozy electronic pop track, throbbing with bassy synths, Littauer's pitch-bent vocals and - unsurprisingly - some brilliant trap-inspired drumming. Towards the end there's a glorious noise out which threatens to swamp the track but there's a pop heart to School of X which wins out.
Produced with his older brother Simon, Littauer explains that "School of X is a school for everyone and everything. You could say that I’m a student as well as everybody else is, in their own way. Other Words is about dualism and escapism. To keep what you already have and a burning desire of something else at the same time. I think we all recognizes these feelings in many aspects of our lives. That being said, it’s a very personal song for me."
