Scandinavian songstress SKOTT delivers a second helping of euphoric pop with new single “Amelia"
SKOTT steps it up a notch with her superb second single “Amelia”; an epic ode to the struggles of teenage love and emotion.
Having seen her debut single “Porcelain” hit impressive heights earlier this year, topping Hype Machine’s ‘most blogged’ chart and receiving repeat support from Radio 1’s Annie Mac, SKOTT show no signs of plateauing or slowing down.
When asked about her inspiration for the track, SKOTT tells us “You've had to fight so hard for this love, but it's not turning out the way you thought. Is it worth continuing or is this the end? The song's about not giving up, fighting to keep that special someone next to you despite the hardest of times. When listening to "Amelia" I get a bit nostalgic. The song reminds me of my first love as a young teenager when I'd dream up crazy plans for the future. They weren't always realistic but they were honest and dramatic.”
Released via the illustrious Chess Club Records, second single “Amelia” demonstrates SKOTT’s remarkable ability to use vocal harmonies to add incredible depth to a song, alongside her powerful arrangement of pulsating synths and drum grooves. The track is a huge statement of musical intent from the young pop star and one that evokes something that far surpasses above the confines of typically brilliant ‘Scandi pop’.
