Saya feels "No Pressure" on her sophomore single
Following the success of debut single that topped Spotify's Viral Global Chart with a song called "No Pressure" is quite the power move.
Fusing elements of pop, trap, and hip-hop, "No Pressure" is Toronto-based Saya's second release. It's an engaging slow-burn of a track that's all the more rewarding for not trying to be excessively upbeat and commercial. Saya's vocal is lithe and satin-smooth, holding the focus over subtle electronic instrumentation. The result is a slinky slice of electro-pop with a gorgeously restrained vocal.
Saya explains that the track's inspiration comes from “that moment when somebody new gets your pulse racing. It’s a new romance that's a thrill ride, rich in passion & excitement, a position of empowerment and control. It was easy to write, [and] a feeling everyone can relate to. I find it to be a relaxed song lyrically but the beat matches the energy and excitement of the actual rush of being romantically involved with someone new."
