Sasha's talent is in full bloom on "Picking Flowers"
"Gracious", the song that introduced us to North London-based singer Sasha, has been on repeat since we first encountered it back in March.
Its follow up, her freshly delivered third single "Picking Flowers", proves just as beguiling, and suggests there might be a lot more to come from this exciting young songwriter. As rich in imagery as it is in her favoured mixture of analog and digital swathes of gently gorgeous sound, it’s a thing of rare loveliness and melancholy at once.
Speaking of the song, Sasha told us:
"I wrote "Picking Flowers" last year with the title in mind as a metaphor for adultery within a relationship – the idea being that someone can pick up and drop lovers without issue or care. I produced the song with my friend Scott Colcombe; we wanted the song to retain the emotion of the lyrics but have a really electronic and rhythmic edge to it."
