Sara Hartman shares the folk-infused pop stomp of “Dance With A Ghost”
Sara Hartman found success in 2016, with debut EP Satellite landing her a support slot on tour with pop megalith Ellie Goulding.
“Dance With A Ghost” is Hartman’s assured follow-up - a slice of stomping, straight-talking, folk-infused brilliance. With a style akin to KT Tunstall, the Berlin-based singer builds a hefty chorus with layered vocals atop acoustic guitar and simple percussion. Clear, emotive lyrics pull the track together, coasting listeners through the four-minute cut in what feels like no time at all.
“A woman from my hometown once told me that this world is going to hurt you enough,” Hartman says. “There is no reason to torture yourself over things that have already happened.
“After a year and a half of flying arounf the world playing shows, I now know that she was right in a way. ‘Dance With A Ghost’ for me is about growing into independence; that hopeless romantic love song lyric about how there is love in letting go.”
