Sam Leidig wrote “Romance Language” whilst recovering from reconstructive collarbone surgery
You have zero excuses not to go to work today…
“Romance Language” is taken from 20-year-old Sam Leidig’s debut album Collarbone, written in an opiate haze post spinal surgery. Taking inspiration from southern punk and experimental pop, Leidig has crafted his own signature hospital slacker rock sound which is both disorienting and confusing whilst being paradoxically cohesive in its delivery.
Recorded alone in a bedroom using only a Tascam 388, "Romance Language” and subsequently Collarbone as a whole are deeply personal, humorous and ultimately a clever insight into the magic that can be made during a period of immobility and pharmaceutical drug reliance.
