Sailor & I's new single "Sweat" is a fever dream made from pianos and house motifs [Premiere]
Swedish producer/singer Sailor & I is streaming the title track from his upcoming Sweat EP exclusively on Best Fit.
It almost sounds like the worlds of neoclassical experimentalism and burbling trance music have collided in slow motion. It's frosty, ambient and swamped by echoes, giving each note time to breath and relish silence, but with its repetitive vox, driving beats and flexible structure, it could lurk in DJ sets worldwide. It's a glorious blend with a genuine sense of fresh euphoria.
Sailor & I, real name Alexander Sjodin, says of the track: "In a lot of ways I escape in music. It's a world where I feel home, where life is quite easy, where I can explore sides of me I didn't knew existed."
The Sweat EP is out 5 May on The Invention of Loneliness. Alongside the title track, it also features a cover of Joy Division's "Disorder".
