SADSUN explore emotional chaos through glittering synth-pop on "Heads or (Tails)"
Casting aside the bristing tension of previous release "Control", Newcastle's SADSUN turn their faces toward a brighter sound on follow-up "Heads or (Tails)".
Despite sonically brimming with the heady warmth of late summer evenings, "Heads or (Tails)" embraces a characteristically dark lyrical narrative from the fast-rising duo. Whilst their background in metal might not be so clearly audible on this release, there's a deliberate weight to every production choice that adds edge to every glittering synth note.
Vocalist Amy Miller explains of the track:
"'Heads or (Tails)' is an attempt at exploring the chaos of emotions. When it was written, I was struggling to get a grip on how I was feeling day to day - it felt as though it could literally be down to a flip of a coin. One moment I was over the moon happy, the next I was through the floor hopeless and experiencing a lot of physical pain. I was aware how it must have been for someone to see me like that and I just wanted everything to stop."
