Newcastle's SADSUN harness a compelling tension on metal-influenced "Control"
Oxymorons are SADSUN's jam. Their very name is a juxtaposition of both light and dark, whilst their musical background in metal sits at odds to their current pop project.
In spite of the apparent conflict, SADSUN's latest offering, "Control", is a pop song made all the better for bandmates Aimy Miller and Simon Atkinson's cross-genre experience. Underlying Miller's delicate, glass-wrought vocal runs a track that bristles with distant thunder and tense, deliberate guitar. The pair harness a compelling tension both sonically and lyrically, making "Control" an immersive, icy listening experience.
“Control is about the suffocating feeling induced from overwhelming routines and the responsibilities that day-to-day life can bring on," SADSUN explain, once again staying true to their darker, heavier musical roots. "When you're drowning in feelings of pain with the weight of life tied at your feet, you can lose all purpose and control of your life."
