RVG fuse punky vocals with UV drenched melodies on new offering, "Vincent Van Gogh"
The Melbourne quartet RVG are back with new single "Vincent Van Gogh", that sees the group's UV drenched melodies made sharp by the contagious, near-raspy vocals.
Their new single is built on a foundation of floaty, chillwave guitars that could belong to the likes of DIIV/Beach Fossils.
However, when the vocals kick in, it's like a new sense of urgency, and a dark tinge is added to the seemingly light hearted track.
They wrap around the track's core, submerging the instruments to allow the vocals to lead in a punk infused fashion.
"Vincent Van Gogh" follows after the group's signing to Fat Possum Records, and comes with news of a UK release for their debut album A Quality Of Mercy.
Having already been self-released in Australia, the recent signing makes a perfect opportunity to bring their music overseas.
The group last played in the UK at this year's The Great Escape Festival in Brighton, and have announced a headline show at London's The Shackelwell Arms on 9 July.
