RITUAL return with next taster of audiovisual project “Wouldn’t Be Love”
Taken from their upcoming audiovisual project No Escape Out Of Time, London quartet RITUAL share new track “Wouldn’t Be Love”.
“Wouldn’t Be Love” sees the group capitalising on the recent full-time addition of vocalist Mononoke to their lineup, centring her vocal throughout the track’s chorus. It’s easy to see why she became a permanent fixture, with her soaring intonations elevating the band’s dark electro-pop sound to a new level.
The track’s narrative is a continuation of that found in previous release “Drown The Lovers”, told through the atmospheric Jackson Ducasse-directed video. The band explain that, “musically, it's the kind of dark cinematic production we naturally gravitate to - we always try to combine the dark 90s UK/Bristol type influences - Portishead, Tricky et cetera - but mix it up with the modern, forward thinking electronic music that excites us.”
Alongside the release of “Wouldn’t Be Love”, RITUAL have announced their debut live show at London’s Roundhouse on 15 June. The setlist promises tracks from current and previous EPs, as well as a full screening of No Escape Out Of Time.
