Raven Artson's "Whatever" is his most poetic and honest outing yet
Raven Artson's honest lyrics are just one of his many desirable traits, and new single "Whatever" presents his most poetic and woozy release yet.
Built on a bed of bright synths, "Whatever" begins as a soothing summer number, but as the introduction transforms into the first chorus, Raven Artson unleashes his partly-autotuned vocals which complement the glitchy electronica.
Laced with bursts of high-pitched synths, Raven Artson's vocals follow the unpredictable pattern of the melody, weaving and distorting in each beat.
Artson also flexes his poetic lyrical style throughout the track, and manages to adopt different singing structures in each verse, further enhancing the unpredictable, glitchy nature of the song.
The LA musician says of his new single, ""Whatever" was written in a stream of consciousness, the words just poured out of me. When finished the brutal honesty struck me. I created a mirror, forcing myself to look into my own eyes."
He adds, "As a person I try to be as honest as possible in my relationships. It’s exciting to share music that’s just as genuine."
