RABBII find hope in pop on emotional new offering "Sadness"
Stockholm pop twosome RABBII are sharing their marvellous new single "Sadness" ahead of its release on Friday.
"Sadness" is a jaw-dropping chunk of sleek synthpop full of intoxicating hooks and exceptional vocals. RABBII push the boundaries of pop, lurking outside the realms of what you'd expect, but they don't shy away from Big Choruses - "Sadness" blooms with euphoric melancholia. The chorus and lyrics are heart shattering - "Sadness is all I have known / Sadness is all I can feel..." - but it's remarkably upbeat too. There's hope here, despite the overwhelming, well, sadness.
The band - Johanna Berglund and Felix Persson - say of the new song: "'Sadness' is about when you don't need to break me, I´m doing a great job of doing that myself. When you see no light, the darkness is the only reality you know."
