Psychic Markers imbue warped lo-fi with doo-wop pep on new single "Dreaming"
Mind-bending pop quintet Psychic Markers have unveiled "Dreaming" ahead of their performance at End Of The Road Festival, which begins later this month.
Lilting rhythms and candied harmonies melt with bouts of raw, raggedy psychedlia - "Dreaming" grabs your by the lapels and drags you into a Wayne Coyne-designed Slumberland. Everything's a bit strange, but it feels warm and welcoming nonetheless.
"'Dreaming' is about life’s tos and fros, depicted through a cosmic lens," say Psychic Markers. "If you stare at yourself in the mirror too long you will ultimately end up at the same question… what am I doing? Sometimes it feels like your best bet is to down tools and sail off into oblivion, or perhaps just settle down on the moon."
Psychic Markers play End Of The Road Festival on 1 September and Oslo Hackney on 12 October.
